2024 Voice Arts® Awards
The Voice Arts® Awards is uniquely designed to honor the community of performers and craft professionals who perform, direct, produce, cast, engineer, and publish media where voice acting is a central creative element of the work. This program is similar to the Oscars, Emmys, and Tonys, where the work is entered in various categories, judged and scored by a panel of industry experts, and where the top 5 scores in each category become nominees. A final round of judging determines the winner in each category. The Voice Arts® Awards is an open competition that includes international languages. Several special awards (Voice Arts® Icon Award, Voice Arts® Environmental Award, and the Muhammad Ali Voice of Humanity Honor), are also bestowed. Nominees and winners are celebrated at the Voice Arts® Awards Gala, which is where the winners of each category are publicly announced. The gala is a ticketed event that takes place annually and is open to the public. The purpose of the Voice Arts® Awards is to provide a stage for international acknowledgment of the extraordinary skill and artistry that goes into voiceover acting and to hold up an evolving best-in-class standard of achievement to which the voiceover industry can continually aspire.
The inaugural presentation of the Voice Arts® Award was made to actor Keith David on August 17, 2013, at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles, CA. This special presentation took place as part of That’s Voiceover! Career Expo. From there, the Voice Arts® Award has come into its own as a major international awards program. And the offering of a special awards during the That’s Voiceover! Career Expo, has been a tradition ever since. The award was designed by Rudy Gaskins in partnership with Joan Marie Baker, the R.S. Owens Company, and Patrick Howard Fraley.
